Mon, 10 Mar 2025 19:09:33 GMT Unfortunately your webmaster is still in minumin human contact and got three more cycle of chemotherapy to do before going out enjoying himself again or he would thinking about going to this event ' Liz and Dave, who gave a very interesting talk last year on their cycling holiday in India, have agreed to give another talk, this time on their river cruise and cycling trip on the River Danube, calling at Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna. The talk with 'slides' will be in the Olive Room at the Gregson Centre, Moor Lane, Lancaster on Friday 14th March starting at 7.30pm. The talk will be free and we provide suitable snacks (anyone for apfel strudel and viennese whirls) to have with drinks either bought from the bar, or from your own supplies. There will be a raffle, so feel free to bring along prizes if, like us, you have collection of 'spare' items! We have booked the room from 7.15pm, so help with putting out tables and chairs would be appreciated. Likewise, help with putting them back away at the end would also be welcome. I do hope that we get a good turn-out to support Liz and Dave. Mon, 10 Mar 2025 20:50:37 GMT 'This year the Rough-Stuff Fellowship is at Hartington Hall Youth Hostel in Derbyshire from Tuesday 7th until Friday 10th October if you interested in going there a bit more information here 'The meeting will take place from Tuesday 7th until Friday 10th October 2025 at Hartington Village, Derbyshire, SK17 0AT. This is approx 10 miles South of Buxton. A mile or so to West of the A515. The committee meeting will start on Wednesday 8th October at 5.30 pm in the YHA meeting room for about an hour. All members may speak but only committee members may vote. The hostel has extensive accommodation available in dormitories and in private rooms. The choice is yours, if available and chosen. There is a cafe, a bar and self messing kitchen at the hostel. There are also several pubs etc in the village, only 300 mtrs down the road. Everyone should book their own accommodation via the YHA website. There are also several lockable bike sheds. Breakfasts can be booked from the YHA cafe, your choice is yours, we can decide when, where and how we eat in the evenings when names & numbers are better known. When and if you have booked, could please advise Allan Henson (by e-mail allan.ewht(at)gmail.com) (who is the General Secretary) so that he knows how many there ar. Mon, 10 Mar 2025 22:01:59 GMT The Eden Valley Cycling UK Group Triennial Challenge ride (aimed at folk over 50) on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 based at Dalston near Carlisle, they offering two routes around the Solway Plain, one of 100 miles and other one at 100 km. The cost is £15 for that they get food at the start, lunch of soup and fruit crumble with tea and traybake at the finish, more information on there website at this link.
